Monticello Community Center

The City of Monticello had invested in a community center only ten years prior to experiencing various unexpected and inexplicable facility failures—from environmental issues within the natatorium affecting community members to exterior façade failure. Monticello then turned to fresh architectural eyes to examine the facility’s condition and recommend solutions.

The resulting study assessed these seemingly unrelated points of failure for the facility, which identified the pool’s failing air-handling unit as the single source and correlative catalyst for all of the facility issues. Monticello implemented the recommended improvements, which not only replaces the air-handling unit with the proper system, updates pool filtration capabilities, and repairs the exterior façade, but also expands the well-used fitness center and improves additional general issues at the community center, ensuring the facility’s future longevity.
