St. James Clinic is a new family medicine clinic by Madelia Health located in the center of downtown St. James, Minn. The existing building was converted from a historic bank into an efficient clinic with a new lobby and waiting area, three exam rooms, a procedure room, a lab and office space for providers. Two special features of the bank remain - the drive-through window, which will be used to pick up prescriptions, and a repurposed bank vault, which now serves as the staff break room featuring the existing vault door.
Locals had requested a St. James-based clinic for years to serve their rural community. The new clinic opened its doors to patients in February, adding Madelia’s high level of care and patient experience to another community. Care is available for acute illnesses and minor injuries, chronic disease and medication management, immunizations, well-child care, sports physicals, adult physicals and preventive health care. Some laboratory tests and pharmacy services will be offered as well.
