Wold teamed with Lochmueller Group to design and oversee construction of Deaconess Sports Park, a premier multi-use athletic complex featuring eight competition fields for girls’, women’s, and men’s fast- and slow-pitch softball, as well as boys’ 12-and-under baseball tournaments. Designed as a destination for both athletes and families, the park includes multiple playgrounds, a splash pad, and a central bandstand for movies and live entertainment. The design team paid careful attention to lighting to minimize impacts on the surrounding neighborhood, while tensile shade structures were incorporated over spectator seating to improve comfort in sun and inclement weather. A dedicated Wi-Fi tower also supports live streaming from the championship field, which was specifically designed to accommodate broadcast tournaments.
