In April 2023, the taxpayers of Somerset supported a referendum that provided funding to make improvements to the stadium, track and field events, elementary school maintenance, and the addition of a 600-seat performing arts center onto the high school.
The new space includes a full flyloft, dressing rooms, a scene shop, gallery space, and other support spaces. These are all spaces that the existing building did not have. Previous performances took place in their multi-purpose room that doubled as a cafeteria space or had to be held in other facilities. While staff and students created some great performances in their current space, these improvements give the school district and community a state-of-the-art facility moving forward.
