The Forest Quad Dining Hall project at Indiana University was initiated after a detailed assessment revealed that renovating Read Hall would be more costly than developing the Forest Quad site. Wold Architects and Engineers, in coordination with Bakergroup equipment and kitchen surveys, designed a dynamic dining facility that combines social gathering spaces, community-building elements, and restaurant-level dining experiences to engage students and enhance campus life.
The project includes a new façade along Jones Avenue, creating a prominent entrance, outdoor dining terraces, and a screened service loading dock integrated with landscaping. Renovations to the first and second floors of the Center Building accommodate academic counseling, mailroom, offices, workrooms, computer labs, and meeting spaces, ensuring the facility serves both residential and academic functions while enhancing circulation and connectivity across the campus.
