Turner Complex at Crossville Centennial Park

The purpose of this project was to expand Crossville’s existing recreational park (which provided facilities for adult-league softball only) to include ball fields for all age groups. Wold facilitated a citizen forum, incorporating its input with the city’s stated recreational needs. We then provided the master plan study for a 22-acre addition to the existing park. The master plan included conceptual plans, an opinion of probable costs, and a projected schedule of construction. Finally, we designed and monitored construction of the complete facility.

The new park is a 4-field baseball and softball complex around a full service concession and restroom building with perimeter walking trails, irrigated ballfields, lighted parking, and other amenities. In 2003-2004, the city added two additional ballfields with lights and a paved, lighted 2,000 LF walking trail.

Crossville’s Centennial Park was recognized as the Independent Softball Association’s Complex of the Year for the 2011-2012 season. This is the first time this award has been given to a Tennessee ballpark. This puts Crossville’s ballpark in the company of some of the best parks in the country.
