North Knoxville Medical Center is the primary hospital for Tennova Health in Knoxville, TN, and has experienced a significant increase in volume in recent years, particularly for high-acuity patients.
Wold partnered with NKMC to design a new 4-story patient tower addition to the house (28) Critical Care rooms, (28) Med/Surg rooms, (18) additional Emergency Observation rooms, conference and education space, and additional support space to handle this increased need. Additionally, the project includes renovations to the existing building within the emergency department, pharmacy, lab, environmental services, bio-med, materials management, and a new, expanded loading dock to support the growing bed number and increased demand for support services.
