The Orthopedic Surgical Institute at Maury Regional Medical Center is part of the first phase of a multi-year strategic plan for Maury Regional Health to improve patient access, experience, and the level of care to the rapidly growing community of Columbia, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Through a partnership with an established orthopedic group in the region, the new ambulatory surgery center aims to move all low-risk total joint procedures from the main hospital into a new state-of-the-art facility built within the outpatient pavilion on campus, providing easier access and better outcomes while freeing up space within the hospital surgery department for more high-risk cases.
The project includes the renovation and expansion of the existing outpatient pavilion to construct a five-story addition with 35,000 square feet of new space and 30,000 square feet of renovated space. The result is a surgery center with six operating rooms, two procedure rooms, 24 prep/recovery rooms, a full sterile processing department serving the entire building and satellite facilities, as well as a relocated women’s imaging center and shell space for future clinic expansion.
