The University of Southern Indiana engaged Wold to renovate the lower level of the Technology Center, a midcentury building in need of technology, infrastructure, and design upgrades. Collaborating closely with university stakeholders, Wold transformed the space into a vibrant hub for creation and collaboration.
Renovations included a fully updated jewelry lab with new fume hoods and soldering stations, a reconfigured metal workshop, two refreshed computer labs with both perimeter seating and collaborative tables, a mock black box theater with acoustic separation, and dedicated CNC router and 3D printing rooms. A new exit corridor was added between learning spaces, allowing for student lockers and improving circulation, turning a once confined floor plan into a flexible, innovative environment.
