Due to continued growth in the area, Ohio Township Fire Department's (OTFD) Station 1 required relocation to better serve the community and support future operational demands. A comprehensive feasibility study was completed to identify a new site and establish plans for a replacement facility functionally equivalent to Station 2, which Wold designed in 2020.
Throughout design, the team worked closely with the fire department through a series of design review meetings to confirm project scope and ensure the station fully accommodated apparatus, staff, and operational equipment needs. The budget was closely monitored during design, with the final size and configuration of the station guided by cost-per-square-foot analysis, department requirements, and community needs. The new Station 1 includes an apparatus bay for up to six vehicles, staff offices, bunk rooms, a day room, kitchen, fitness facilities, and separate EMS accommodations distinct from the fire station living quarters.
