Our team was engaged by McHenry County to design the Valley Hi Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s new expansion and renovation, which includes the addition of a memory care wing and a series of interior renovations. With the new memory care wing, Valley Hi will further enhance its mission for providing modern facilities and critical care for its patients. The approximately 4,500-square-foot expansion includes the creation of a common area and courtyard, along with the renovation and connection of two existing hallways to enhance the overall flow of foot traffic. These renovations are intended to foster stronger connections among residents and their caretakers at the facility.
Plans for the expansion have been in development since the completion of the most recent round of improvements to the Valley Hi facility in 2022, which included renovations to the therapy room and cosmetic improvements to give the campus a more contemporary feel. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in October 2023 and was attended by local officials, partner representatives and community members. Construction is anticipated to be completed by next fall, paving the way for occupancy by spring 2025.
