Wold was hired to help Chaffee County design a new pre-engineered building for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Sheriff’s Office. This facility supports EMS medics and vehicles, with on-site live/work quarters for their 48-hour shifts. It also provides a separate area with much-needed Sheriff’s office and vehicle space, and a multi-function large meeting and training room for flexible use.
Wold provided full-service design management that regularly involved decision makers, worked with pre-engineered building vendors, provided guidance for energy efficiency and building systems redundancy, and kept an eye on cost and budget. Planning also included coordination with the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, as grant funds were sought for the project.
