The partnership strengthens both firms’ ability to serve communities across the country while building on JJCA’s strong presence

Wold Architects & Engineers, a full-service planning, architecture and engineering firm specializing in education, government, healthcare and senior living design, today announced it has acquired JJCA, a Nashville-based architecture firm known for its work in healthcare and education design.

The partnership builds on JJCA’s long-standing presence in Tennessee and the country, where the firm has developed strong client relationships and a reputation for thoughtful, specialized design. By joining Wold, JJCA gains access to expanded resources, including in-house engineering, deeper technical expertise and operational support, allowing the firm to continue growing its reach and impact while maintaining its leadership, teams and client relationships.

“JJCA has built a firm defined by strong relationships, trusted expertise and a deep commitment to the communities they serve,” said CEO Vaughn Dierks, AIA, LEED AP. “This partnership allows us to build on that foundation, bringing together our strengths to support continued growth while preserving the people and approach that make JJCA successful.”

Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Nashville, one of the nation’s leading healthcare markets, JJCA has completed more than 700 healthcare projects over the past three decades and brings deep expertise serving rural healthcare systems, behavioral health providers, higher education institutions, school districts and community-based organizations. The partnership creates new opportunities to strengthen that work, expand visibility and support clients with additional capabilities as their needs evolve.

“This partnership allows us to take the next step in our growth while staying true to what has made JJCA successful,” said David Johnson, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, founding principal at JJCA. “With greater resources and expanded capabilities, we’re able to grow our impact while continuing to serve our clients with the same consistency and trust they expect.”

JJCA specializes in creating environments that enhance the human experience. The firm’s work is rooted in a relationship-driven approach that aligns closely with Wold’s commitment to community-centered design. By bringing together complementary expertise, both firms are better positioned to deliver comprehensive solutions while maintaining a strong local presence.

Leadership from both organizations will remain actively involved as operations and branding are integrated over time, ensuring continuity across teams and services while supporting a seamless transition for clients, employees and partners.

The announcement follows Wold’s recent acquisition of VPS Architecture and represents continued momentum in the firm’s long-term growth strategy. With each partnership, Wold is building a national platform of firms with strong local relationships, deep expertise and a shared commitment to serving communities through design.
