El Paso County Regional Law Enforcement Center

The El Paso County Sheriff Department and the City of Colorado Springs Police Department undertook a study to plan the feasibility of a consolidated regional law enforcement center. The study created a program, site options, and analysis for a facility that includes a 911-communication operations center, an evidence space, and a crime lab.

By collaborating closely with a core group of representatives from El Paso County and City of Colorado Springs, the study leveraged joint service functions and resources for efficiency while defining a square footage program that ensures a safe, secure, and survivable facility. Considering the long-term nature of similar facilities, the study concluded that a replacement facility would meet essential service standards, provide open ends for growth, and create desired efficiencies and joint operation without compromises.
