Wold Team

At Wold, making a difference in the communities we serve has been part of our purpose since the very beginning. Our focus on collaboration shapes both our projects and the ways we show up beyond them. This year, our teams nationwide gave their time, expertise and energy to local organizations, creating meaningful impact. Whether it was supporting students, alleviating food insecurities, mentoring future leaders or lending a hand where it’s needed most, our team found countless ways to strengthen the causes they’re passionate about across the country.

Partnerships, affiliations and board involvement

Our long-standing partnerships with nonprofits and community organizations are the cornerstone of how we stay engaged and make an impact. Through board service, committee participation and involvement in local planning commissions, our team members reinforce the important work local organizations are doing every day. Over the past year, we’ve been proud to support organizations such as:

Youth-focused initiatives

Supporting and nurturing the next generation of leaders is another key focus of our community efforts. Early exposure to architecture, engineering and STEM enriches students’ lives and helps build a more diverse and inclusive industry. Our teams are committed to creating opportunities for youth to explore, learn and envision a brighter future. In 2025, Wold teams participated in programs including:

  • Project Pipeline: Mentorship program aimed at shrinking the diversity gap in architecture
  • ACE Mentorship Program: A workforce development program for high school students connecting them with experts from the design and construction industry
  • EXITE Camp: Summer camp in Minnesota introducing and encouraging middle school-aged girls to explore STEM careers
  • Love Helps: Serves over 4,000 elementary students through programs that build foundational skills for long-term success.
  • Student scholarship fundraisers through the Indiana Association of School Business Officials
  • Evaluator volunteer roles for school projects with Huntley Community School District 158
  • And many high school and college interns across all of our offices!

Community events

By attending community events, we stay closely connected to the people we serve, reinforcing our commitment to meaningful partnerships and the important role we play in shaping vibrant, thriving communities. Through these shared experiences, our team members create positive change while deepening their understanding of local needs. This year, our teams attended a wide variety of events, like:

  • The Annual LOLO Christmas Show, benefiting the “Snack Back-Pack” program at RIFA to help alleviate youth food insecurity
  • WingFest and CrawFest, supporting the Scarlet Rope Project and its services for human trafficking survivors
  • Jackson-Madison County School System Annual Gala, where Wold has sponsored a table for the last two years to uplift local organizations and community initiatives
  • Regional food drives, such as the Second Harvest campaign in Minnesota, which support families facing food insecurity
  • Golf tournaments across various states, raising money for student scholarship funds, healthcare nonprofits and educational foundations
  • Annual backpack drives across the nation, ensuring students have access to essential school supplies
Holiday card writing and delivery, bringing joy to nursing home, hospital and care facility patients during the season

Company-supported stewardship

While showing up as a team to give back is ingrained in our mission, we also believe that providing the structure and support for individual volunteer efforts further amplifies our teams' impact. Wold encourages employees to take two paid service days each year, a policy designed to empower team members to contribute where they personally feel compelled to give back.

Corporate responsibility at Wold goes beyond encouraging individual volunteerism and donations – it starts with the way we approach every project. Caring for our communities means thoughtfully managing our resources and minimizing our environmental impact. Our teams bring this commitment to life through resourceful facilities management, adaptive reuse projects and multi-tenant building strategies that make the most of existing spaces. We recognize our unique opportunity to elevate sustainable design and reduce environmental impact in the communities we serve by shaping sustainable goals, updating maintenance practices and delivering design solutions that foster healthier, more sustainable communities. By integrating sustainability into our everyday work, we aim to create buildings and systems that serve both people and the planet for years to come.

We’re grateful for the communities we serve and the colleagues who put their values into action every day. Their generosity, leadership and willingness to lend a hand, both inside and outside the office, reflect what we believe makes our firm special. As we move into the year ahead, we’re excited to deepen our partnerships and continue giving back in ways that make a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
