The Waverly Health Center commissioned a master plan for a phased replacement of their critical access hospital and two independent clinical groups not housed on the campus. Because of the rapidly growing suburban community, the master plan considers current volume projections and projected increases of population and physician specialties.
Waverly Health Center incorporates 20,000 sf of clinical spaces to complement the 60,000 sf of replacement space for surgery, inpatient areas, birthing, and pharmacy. This replacement required proper infrastructure support for the facility, including 20,000 sf of new MEP systems, materials handling, and a new power plant. The new inpatient floor recognizes the increased family involvement during care, utilizing Planetree design concepts that emphasize empathy through lenses of empowerment, dignity, and compassion. A rooftop garden not only acts as a relaxing respite for patients and families but also provides the community with an event space
