The City of New Hope commissioned an analysis of their existing buildings that determined space deficiencies at their existing police and city hall facilities. The analysis provided multiple options for renovating or building new at their existing civic center site that would best accommodate city government operations.
Moving forward with building new on their current pool site, the City of New Hope assembled a citizen’s task force to incorporate community voices into a facility that functions as a beacon of pride for the residents. The city hall and police facility is the focal point of the civic center while respecting both the surrounding park and neighborhood and the existing buildings on site. The design stresses the need for safety and security in lieu of an active shooter event at the existing city hall, and ensures that staff, officials, and the public alike feel secure while remaining an accessible resource to the City of New Hope.
