Manchester acquired a 22-acre tract of land for both active and passive park amenities. Wold was selected as the lead firm to Master Plan the facilities to be incorporated into this park. We utilized a public input forum to determine the best use of the property based on the needs of the community.
Amenities included are 4-300’ softball fields, a playground area and pavilion(s) with passive areas. There is a centrally located concessions stand and restrooms, irrigated playing fields, sidewalks, and paths that tie into the Little Duck River Greenway and parking.
The Master Plan of the Sports Park was altered from a softball complex to a soccer complex when the City realized they could receive monies from the Local Parks and Recreation Fund. Wold was responsible for the Design Development, Construction Documents through bidding and contracts for construction for Phase 1 of the soccer fields of the Sports Park.
Manchester used Efficiency Conservation Plan money on this project.
