DW Wilson Recreation Center

Wold has worked with the City of Tullahoma to provide architectural design and engineering services in two separate projects for facility renovations and additions at DW Wilson. The first project included an addition designed to house a lobby, administrative offices, men’s and women’s locker rooms as well as the removal and replacement of the indoor pool structure, with a new heating, ventilation, and dehumidification system. The second project included modifications to the indoor pool facility including new lane guides, gutters, evacuator system, time clocks and scoreboard. A key priority for the city was to increase the length of the indoor pool to make it competition ready. Additional renovations within the existing recreational center focused on a concession’s kitchen and dining/party room. The kitchen had two transactions counters, one open to the dining/party room for indoor usage and one with access from the outdoor pool.

Bringing great excitement to the City of Tullahoma, the outdoor pool includes a lazy river, three water slides, and numerous other play features for children of all ages ranging from a kiddie slide to a basketball goal. The pool has a variety of fun, refreshing water features including LED bubblers, an aqua dome, a shade structure that has multiple spray functions, dumping buckets and an assortment of ground sprayers with adjustable output settings. The pool is zero entry for ease and accessibility and the water levels vary based on pool features. Other facility renovations to improve the recreational experience include renovations to the bath houses and pool entrance, a new outdoor pool pump and filtration room, new sidewalks and patio for outdoor dining, and additional parking.
