The educational program for this 6-8 middle school completes the single education campus goals of a long-range master plan developed for the Hollow School District 38. The K-8 campus houses up to 2,000 students across K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 buildings.
Big Hollow Middle School’s design emphasizes project-based, interdisciplinary learning strategies organized by team environments for each grade level, comprised of 125-student teams. Each set of teams has a dedicated science lab and shared tech area for large group instruction. A central core contains additional support facilities, special education classrooms, and looks to the future with a 1,125-student capacity already in place.
