Legalization of Marijuana

Its Impact on the Education System

Updated March 16, 2020: The NSBA conference has been terminated, and although we are disappointed, we know that the health and safety of all is the number one priority. We hope to share our insights and experience at a later date and in a different format. Until then, below is a description of what our team was planning to present.

Discussing the legalization of marijuana and its impact on the education system are Michael Clough, an educational planner with Wold Architects and Engineers and former superintendent in Sheridan along with Wold’s Dan Kritta and Josh Grenier.

Clough speaks on personal experience as a superintendent in Colorado at the time of the recreational legalization and anecdotal evaluation of that process in the state. This first-hand knowledge can help administrators and school officials prepare for the inevitable changes and challenges ahead as more states pass varied forms of legalization. Each state and district will face unique circumstances as the process takes shape, but an informed, well-rounded background can benefit your district to be as prepared as possible from the start.
