Equalizing the Starting Line
Planning for Health and Social Service Partnerships for Communities in the Schools
Updated March 16, 2020: The NSBA conference has been terminated, and although we are disappointed, we know that the health and safety of all is the number one priority. We hope to share our insights and experience at a later date and in a different format. Until then, below is a description of what our team was planning to present.
Discussing the key considerations in the planning process are Wold’s Vaughn Dierks and Job Gutierrez.
Today’s student has more to worry about than just education. Mental and physical health, social and human resources, and safety and security concerns affect over 35% of students, but many of these are not mandated within schools. With purposeful discussion and planning, there are opportunities to include these as part of an approach to facilities and operations. This presentation will address some potential resources available and ways to begin this conversation when planning your projects.
