Sauk Rapids City Hall and Police Station

City of Sauk Rapids

In 2010, the City of Sauk Rapids was facing projected growth and experiencing facility space issues at their existing City Hall and Police Station. When a local business approached the City and offered to buy their prominent, but crowded, existing City Hall site, the City embarked on developing a new City Hall and Police Station to position the city for the future growth. The City hired a team composed of Hagemeister Mack Architects as Architect of Record and Wold Architects and Engineers as Public Safety Planner to design their new City Hall and Police Station. The project team met the challenges of the obligation to vacate the old city hall in a very short time frame to allow commercial redevelopment, the obligation to meet a strict and frugal project budget established by the sale price of the old city hall site, and the need to plan for future growth as the city grows and additional funds become available. The new facility opened in the summer of 2012 allowing the city to provide modern, efficient operations to better serve the public.
