Otis PK-12

Otis, Colorado

Otis’s new school is a replacement for their two aging existing school facilities. It was recognized that in such a small school, sharing of resources is important every day. Planning led to age separation by wings, with each wing comprised of eight classrooms and a flexible learning area. Just outside the wings are shared computer labs, Art, and Special Ed. spaces.

The simple circulation layout of the school allows for strong visual connection from end to end to further enhance supervision, with office administration and counseling located in the center of the building. The final site design will feature a large parking lot and parent drop-off area on the south side at the main entry and a separate bus loading/unloading zone on the north side.
