North Boone High School
North Boone Community Unit School District
Wold worked with staff, board members, and community members to establish criteria for the design of the new 500-student high school. The facility was designed to easily accommodate a 250-student addition, added four years after the original building was constructed. The centrally located cafeteria offers a central gathering space for student activities and community events while student spaces are incorporated along supervised, locker-free corridors to provide visibility into the collaborative environments inside the classrooms and labs. Further unique features include:
- Small theater with seating in the commons area
- Two-story media hub, central to the building
- Administration located with visibility of main entrance
- Competition gym and two-station auxiliary gym
- Four separate locker bays transitionally positioned between the commons and the academic wing
