Brown County Community Treatment Center

Green Bay, Wisconsin

The main goal for this project was to put the needs of the resident first. The project included a 35-bed psychiatric hospital, 63-bed long term care facility, and an outpatient mental health clinic.

This unique project illustrates that a committed owner and designer team can design a complex healthcare project (a county-owned psychiatric hospital, long term care facility, and mental health clinic all in one) in a way that respects residents and staff, while also meeting sustainable design goals.

The psychiatric hospital component of the facility also serves as the detox center for the county, for people who pose a suicide risk. The hospital takes patients for 3-5 day stays.
