Bridges Medical Services

Ada, Minnesota

When floodwaters destroyed Ada’s healthcare center in 1997, Bridges Medical Services called on our expertise to design a new community-based healthcare center. We worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help assure adequate and realistic damage assessment of the existing facility so that the new community based healthcare center could be realized. The hospital, clinic, and nursing home facilities and services were integrated to maximize the healthcare resources for this rural northwestern Minnesota community.

Bridges Medical Services supports a ten-bed inpatient hospital, five-provider clinic, outpatient surgical and diagnostic services, a skilled nursing facility for 49 residents, community physical rehabilitation, and an EMS base. Bridges Medical Services is designed for staff efficiency. The main nurse station/reception serves as the operational hub — complete with inpatient control and close observation of the main entrance, emergency, clinic, and outpatient traffic.
