Wold's Michael Eichhorn Expands Firm's Education Design Practice

Mike Eichhorn, AIA, LEED BD+CWold Architects and Engineers continues to develop new firm initiatives to help design exceptional 21st century educational facilities for K-12 education environments. The firm’s Michael Eichhorn, AIA, LEED BC+D, brings more than 20 years of experience in planning, designing and executing educational facilities, with a special focus on sustainable architecture.

As a Senior Educational Facility Planner with Wold, Eichhorn has led an expansion of the firm’s work with schools throughout the region to create lasting, flexible and sustainable facilities that provide high quality learning environments for students and staff. He has designed educational facilities throughout Chicago and surrounding areas including Grayslake North High School, Warren Township High School (Almond Campus) and Winfield Primary School. His experience extends internationally to the Music School in Hamburg, Germany; and Palafolls School and Library, Barcelona, Spain.

Eichhorn is involved in efforts to bring lasting and economical sustainable architecture into schools; he is co-chair of USGBC Illinois Green Schools Committee and a Registered Energy Professional; he studied architecture at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
